This video is all about relationship marketing and how to use the power of the internet to generate clients. This is one of the most powerful forms of lead generation for fitness professionals and in this video, I’m going to show you exactly how to do it.

Relationship marketing is all about your ability to build strong connections with your clients by providing them with information that is tailored to their needs, wants and interests. It’s all about finding out their biggest challenges and helping them solve them.

Your ability to build relationships with your clients and potential new clients is the key to growing your Fitness business. There’s numerous ways you can do this online and can be very simple, if you know what to do. You can do this through content creation, Facebook marketing and through email marketing. All are very powerful tools you can use, and I’ll go over each of these in a little more detail in a moment, to show you exactly how to do it.

Let’s break this down a little bit and show you how this works. When it comes to losing weight and getting fit, the best results often come from working with an expert like you. You’ve done the training and you have the knowledge to help people reach their goals.

What can be a little bit tough though, is a majority of the results actually depend on what people do outside of their training sessions with you. Their results depend on their motivation, their eating habits, maintaining a balanced lifestyle and having a positive mindset, amongst other things.

For a lot of fitness professionals, this makes it really tough and it means that not all of their clients reach their goals. It’s often something fitness professionals think is out of their control. But this is where relationship marketing comes in and this is where the success in fitness businesses lies. What if you were able to reach your clients outside of training hours and provide them with the motivation and information they needed to reach their goals? Do you think this would help them get better results?

You bet. I’ve seen it time and time again. The more value and information you can give your clients outside of their training sessions will not only help them achieve their goals, it will also help you build relationships and generate more clients through word of mouth. It’s a real a snowball effect.

Let’s me quickly show you why relationship marketing gets such good results and leads to much higher profits and why it’s so important that you start focusing on it. Then, I’ll show you how it’s done.

Now, there are heaps of reasons, but here’s the top three;

Firstly, Satisfied, long term clients are statistically less likely to switch to your competition. They also tend to be less price sensitive and customers who feel taken care of are less concerned about what they are paying, which is what we want!

Secondly, Strong relationships are the foundation of word of mouth referrals. The more you offer your clients and the stronger you build your relationship the more likely they will happily refer you to their friends… also what we want.

Finally, building strong relationships with your clients means that you are less likely to have to constantly look for new clients. Truth is, the cost of getting a new client is 6 to 7 times more expensive than it is to keep an existing one. So the more you work on the relationship you have with your current clients, the less you’ll have to worry about high turnover rates.

Now that you know why relationship marketing is so important, let’s look at how to start implementing it.

First up, let’s take a look at content marketing and content creation.

Content creation is all about giving your clients the information they need to get results, during your training as well as outside of their training with you. You know the old saying, if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime? The same is true for marketing. If you sell something you make a customer today, if you help someone, you make a customer for life. Those in the fitness industry that focus their time on helping their clients and empowering them with the knowledge they need to reach their goals are the ones who have the most clients and the strongest reputation.

So, what content can you create that will help your clients? Perhaps it’s a video series, motivational posts or think about teaming up with someone who is qualified to give nutritional advice. Think about the problems your clients might be having outside of working with you and work on solving them and you’ll be on your way to building a really successful business. Just remember, when you create this content once, you can use it again and again with all of your current and future clients.

Next up – let’s take a look at Facebook Marketing for Fitness Professionals.

Facebook is one of the best ways to build relationships with your clients and to be in contact with them outside of your training sessions. I can almost guarantee that all of your clients are on Facebook and therefore you have the ability to motivate them and be in contact with them on a daily basis. Building relationships through social media is all about knowing who your audience is, and creating a social media presence that reflects what they want to see from you. It allows you to hold them accountable, to build friendships and to create an entire community on Facebook who sees you as an expert. If I know one thing, it’s that every fitness professional needs to be on Facebook.

I’ve taught hundreds of fitness professionals how to be successful on Facebook and they have had incredible results. Finally, let’s take a look at Email Marketing for Fitness Professionals.

Email marketing is still one of the most powerful mediums to build relationships with your clients. If you can provide a consistent stream of genuinely useful content then this will guarantee your campaign is really effective.

You can start to build relationships with your clients by getting them to opt in for email updates. Now, it’s really important if you decide to begin an email campaign that you provide your subscribers with really valuable content that is easy to consume. Move away from email newsletters, they’re old and people don’t have time to read them.

Always keep your emails focused on helping them and providing them with value, steer clear of purely telling them all about your business.

Think about creating emails that provide a little bit of inspiration, keep them short, sharp and to the point.

Maybe there’s a great video on Youtube that will give them some motivation – if possible, add this video to your website and share a link to it in your emails, or even create your own motivational videos. Perhaps there’s a quote that you like, set up emails that send them some daily motivation.

I recommend to a lot of my clients to checkout mail chimp. Mailchimp is one of the best free email marketing platforms you can use. We talk about email marketing and Mailchimp more in our training program Getting Facebook Fit so if you want more guidance then definitely check that out.

That’s it for this video, now all you need to do is start putting it into practice. If you liked this video, definitely share the link with your friends.
