Hi I’m Jaimee Maree from the fitnessentourage.com. One of the most common things I hear from fitness professionals who are looking to grow their business is that they don’t have time to do the things they know they should be doing to get more clients. They feel like they’re working too much, struggling to get everything done and they’re not making enough money. In today’s video I’m going to show you can work less and get more done to grow your fitness business.

Now, what’s really tough is that when people decide they want to become fitness professionals, whether you’re a personal trainer, yoga instructor, health coach or in another niche in this industry you probably signed up because you were passionate about health and fitness, you loved helping people and you wanted to make a difference. What you probably didn’t sign up for, was the business side of things, but what you’ve come to realise is that without strong marketing or business skills you’ll be overworked and underpaid and you’ll end up like a mouse on a wheel. In this video I’m going to show you how you can stop getting caught up in this vicious cycle and how you can actually get much better results by doing less.

There’s so much information out there teaching fitness professionals how to get more clients but what do you do when you don’t seem to have time to post to Facebook every day, create blog articles, record videos and do the things you know will make a difference. I know you might be thinking, “I just don’t have time to do all of these things” and I know it can be tough, some days it’s tough for me too, that’s why I implement several systems into my business (and my life) to make it a heck of a lot easier and I want to let you in on what these things are.

I want to make one thing clear first though. The excuse of not having time, is a similar excuse people use when it comes to exercising, and it’s not really about not having enough time, because there’s always enough time in the day to exercise right? It’s simply that exercise is not a high enough priority for them. We have 168 hours in a week, and time is our most precious resource. Once it passes, we cannot get it back. So, have a think about how you spend your time, and then think about what your priorities are. If getting more clients, building your business and making more money is a high priority for you, then there’s definitely more time available to you than you think. So now I’ve got that out of the way, I’m going to show you how you can spend less time on building your business anyway by working smarter, not harder.

The first thing I want you to understand is that the best thing you can possibly do for your business (and your life) is to get some help. The biggest roadblock to success is thinking that you can do it all by yourself. I wouldn’t be where I am in my business if I didn’t have a team of people to support me and this is where the power of outsourcing comes in. Have a think about all of the areas of your life where you’re doing things that are taking you away from your ultimate goal. For the sake of this exercise I’m going to focus on business and how to stop doing the things you don’t want to do in business, but have a think about other areas of your life too.

When it comes to getting help with building your business online, whether it’s help with your website, graphic design, writing articles, editing videos or simple data entry then you can get a lot of this done by contractors for a lot less than you’d think. You can outsource a lot of this work for $3, $5, $10 an hour. By using websites like oDesk, eLance or freelancer.

When we teach you about how to be successful online we talk about the importance of creating content like blogs articles, videos and eBooks, we talk about the importance of landing pages and websites, all of these things are so important to help you grow your business and for a busy fitness professional, sometimes there’s just too much involved and it means it all gets ignored. That’s why you need to get some help. Checkout some of the websites I mentioned before and have a look at outsourcing some of these tasks you need help with. You can give them as much or as little work as you like, you set the price you want to pay and it can seriously boost your productivity 10 fold by outsourcing. I use these websites every day in my business and it’s incredible the difference it can make.

I want to quickly show you how powerful outsourcing can be. A popular theory that best explains outsourcing is this. Something is not worth doing if it makes you less than your hourly wage. So what this means is, you should be outsourcing tasks if they will cost you less than your hourly wage. Let’s do an example; I want you to work out what your hourly wage is, this is going to be vastly different for every fitness professional. But lets say you make $70 an hour, in theory this means if your doing tasks that take up an hour of your time and you could outsource it for less than $70 an hour then you should be doing that because it will mean that you have an extra hour to take on new clients. Now, the exact numbers on this are a little bit tricky, but I want you to understand the basics on how this works. If you’re currently trying to do research to help you write blog posts or learn how to use software to edit your own videos, then stop. Instead, find someone who you can pay one tenth of your hourly wage to, to do this for you instead. There’s hundreds, if not thousands of contractors who would love to help you and are trained specifically in these areas. Spend your time focusing on what you do best and what you love doing, and get someone else to do everything else.

I know some people feel like they don’t have the money to outsource, so if that’s how you’re feeling then you’ve got to get out of that mindset, because if you don’t have the money to get help, then you actually can’t afford not to. Enlisting help is one of the best things you can do to free up your time and ultimately the more money you’ll be able to make. So start thinking of ways you can make it happen. Even if it’s just one thing at a time. Start writing out all of the things you’d like to stop doing so you can focus on what you love doing – helping people get fit and healthy.
