One of the key principles we focus on with all of our clients and members is to focus on #theonething that’s really going to take your business to the next level… and because of how valuable this concept is, we wanted to release it to the public for you to learn from and implement to help grow your business!

In case you prefer reading… Here’s the video the video transcript. Enjoy!

Hey guys, Jaimee Maree here, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I wanted to make a video for you to let you know that as promised we’ve been working on a lot of stuff in the background to really help us grow and add value to this membership for you.

This group is one of the most important parts of my business, and over the coming months and years we’re going to be growing it into something epic, and something I hope you love being a part of.

As a valued member of the group, it’s really important that I’m able to move you from where you are right now, to where you want to be as fast as humanly possible and so we’re going to be trialing a few things over the next few months that I think you’re going to love and I hope will be super helpful for you.

How to Move Your Business Forward

I want to share a quick story with you, and then I want to explain how this story relates to something we’re going to introduce to this program to really help you move your business forward.

—— [Story revealed in video]

So, this concept is something I want to adapt for this group to really help you to move forward as well.

Over the next few weeks I’m going to create videos to help you do this.
There will be two options you can run with,

  • Choose your own one thing for the week that you want to implement
  • Run with the one thing I recommend you focus on to move your fitness business forward when it comes to marketing online.

In order to do this though, I want to go through some of the key concepts of the book and do a little bit of a summary for you.

It is a great book to read, or a great audible to download and listen to, so if you get a chance, I highly recommend it, but here’s a bit of a summary for you.

What is #theonething That Will Skyrocket Your Business?

The book revolves around the idea of one simple question.

What’s the ONE thing you could do, such that by doing it everything else would be easier or unnecessary?

He says that the key to success is figuring out your one most important thing in your business, your career and your life over the long run, which you can think of as your someday goal, and once you figure that out you need to identify how many dominos you need to line up and then knock down in order to achieve it.

It sounds pretty simple right?

Truth is, it’s so simple but it’s not necessarily easy and people, myself included, forget that it’s the most effective thing you can actually do to reach your goals.

Which is to simply focus in on one thing and harness all of your focus until you’ve achieved that goal.

One of the most important quotes in the book that I found was short and sharp, but really powerful.

“Success is sequential, not simultaneous.”

It all comes down to one thing at a time, and having a domino effect in your life and your business.

Did you know that a domino can knock over another domino that is 1.5 times larger?

If you start with a domino 5mm tall and 29 dominos later you will be knocking over a domino the height of The Empire State building.

I know it is easy to feel overwhelmed with all the things that you feel need to get done.

Don’t.

Of course there will always be less important day-to-day activities that we still must accomplish.

They key is making sure that you prioritise your time so that your one thing doesn’t get cheated.

Just pick one task each week that will move the needle most in your business, and don’t let other things distract you from the thing that will really make a difference

So, figure out what’s the most important thing to you, and give it your undivided attention.

Gary also talks about the idea that you can do two things at once, but you can’t focus effectively on two things at once.

Every time you allow yourself to be pulled in a different direction, you’re dividing your attention and literally dividing your focus.

Meaning do few things for more effect instead of doing more things with side effects.

He also gave a really good example of this, and talked about a surgeon and how if a surgeon pulled out his or her phone and was texting while he was performing surgery on you or your family we’d be absolutely outraged.

So if we hold surgeons to that level and such a high standards and other professions like that, then why aren’t we doing that for our own work and our own business and committing the same degree of focus on the most important tasks we have to accomplish?

So the take away from that was, be like a surgeon and avoid distraction; focus on one thing, get it done and respect your own work.

So if you have a habit of multi tasking, texting, email, being on Facebook, or having multiple things open on your computer at once, then try and shut all of that down and focus on the one thing that’s going to make the biggest difference to helping you move forward.

“The one thing” also talks about The 80/20 Pareto Principle.

Now, if you haven’t heard about the 80/20 principle, it’s actually pretty simple and it basically means that the majority of your effort leads to the majority of you results.

So 20% of your clients usually account for 80% of your profits, 20% of your investments usually account for 80% of your returns and of course 20% of your habits usually result in 80% of your success.

It really doesn’t matter about the exact numbers you apply, the important thing to understand is that in your life and in your business, there are certain activities that you do that account for the majority of the results you experience and the success you have.

So keep that in mind for everything you do.

If something you’re doing is not the most important thing you could be doing, then look to get some help.

Work out your hourly wage, and if you’re doing tasks that are less than your hourly wage, then you must outsource it.

This applies to not only your business but also your personal life as well.

If you’re doing tasks that are worth less than your hourly wage, then stop doing them, outsource them.

Identify what is the one most important thing you could do to move forward and give it your undivided attention.

Now I want you to keep in mind, it will never really be only ONE thing.

As they say, success is sequential, not simultaneous.

It’s one step at a time.
ONE thing at a time. It’s not your one and only thing, but it’s the ONE thing right now and if you focus on it, it will start moving you and your business forward.

So, block out time to make it happen.

Here’s a challenge for you.

Shut down your phone or put it on silent when you’re working on your one thing.

Turn off notifications on your email app and whatever you do, do not sign into any social media channels.

Take 2 hours out of your week this week and see if you can do this.

If you’ve got kids and there’s any time free where there will be no distractions, use this time to start figuring out what your ONE thing should be.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to help you get kick started.

I’ll be giving you ideas of things that I recommend you get done, which will really help your business move forward.

The concept may evolve as we go, but I really want to do everything I can to help you move from where you are right now, to where you really want to be as fast as humanly possible.

That’s it from me, I hope you have an amazing week and I’ll talk to you soon.
